Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) is a public university of engineering and architecture in Bangladesh. The university was established in 1876 as Dhaka Survey School, it is the oldest institution for the study of engineering, architecture and urban planning in Bangladesh. The university campus is located at the Palashi area of Dhaka.

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology is inviting applications from the candidates for the admission on BSc in Engineering.
Program title: BSc in Engineering
Qualification for admission:
A. Candidates must have passed in the Secondary School Certificate / Admission / Equivalent Examination with a minimum GPA of 4.00 on a scale of 5.00 in Science (including Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry) in grade system from any Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board / Madrasa Education Board / Technical Education Baird in Bangladesh or passed in the equivalent examination from the Foreign Education Board with at least equivalent grade.
Candidates should have a minimum GPA of 4.00 on a scale of 5.00 and secondary with registration in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in Secondary / Dakhil / Equivalent Examination from any Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board / Madrasa Education Board / Technical Education Board in Higher Secondary / Alim / equivalent examination/ Dakhil / Equivalent Examination and and have to pass the Secondary / Dakhil / Equivalent Examination with minimum of 270 marks out of 300 marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in these three subjects or anyone has to passed in the equivalent examination from the Foreign Education Board with at least equivalent grade.
Candidates who have passed Secondary or equivalent examination in 2018 and Higher Secondary or its equivalent examination in 2019 but Higher Secondary or equivalent or their revised results in the equivalent examination have been published by the Education Board after 10 September 2019, in which case they have been given a minimum of 460 marks out of 600 marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry from the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board / Madrasa Education Board / Technical Education Board You have to pass the Higher Secondary / Alim / Equivalent examination or anyone has to pass the equivalent examination from foreign education bard with at least equivalent grade / number.
All the applicants from 1st to 24,000th will be allowed to participate in the pre-selection test by selecting from among all the correct applicants on the basis of the prescribed number mentioned above. For this selection, the marks obtained in the three subjects of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in the secondary examination of the applicant, respectively, the marks obtained in Mathematics and the marks obtained in Physics will be considered as the order of priority.
B. Candidates who have passed GCE “O” Level and GCE “A” Level must have passed with at least B Grade in each of the five subjects (including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English) in GCE “O” Level Exam and Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry must be passed with at least A grade in each of these three subjects in GCE “A” Level.
Applicants who have obtained GCE “O” Level and GCE “A” Level results subject to fulfilling the minimum qualifications will be given the opportunity to participate in the pre-selection test.
C. All eligible applicants belonging to ethnic minorities will be given the opportunity to participate in the pre-selection test subject to fulfilling the minimum qualifications.
D. Eligible candidates for the pre-selection examination will be divided into four shifts subject to fulfillment of the above conditions. Following the statistical method, the equivalence of the merit format of the candidates in each shift will be ensured.
E. Depending on the merit of the pre-selection test results, students from 1st to 6000th (1st to 1500th per shift) (including Module A and Module B) will be selected to participate in the main admission test.

• During the submission of the online application through the postgraduate admission section of the website of BUET, the following supporting documents must be uploaded within the period of 20.05.2021 to 28.05.2021. (until 11:59 p.m.).
1. Scanned copies of certificates of all public examinations.
2. Scanned copies of transcripts/ grade sheets/ mark sheets of all public examinations.
3. Scanned copies of testimonial/ character certificate from the institution last attended.
4. Letter of Consent, in prescribed form, from the employer for applicants in part-time or full-time employment.
• A non-refundable application fee of Tk. 505/- (Five hundred five) must be paid by online methods described on the postgraduate admission section of BUET website.
• Prospectus containing detailed qualification requirements for admission to different programs and information regarding the submission of applications available at the postgraduate admission section of BUET website.
• Applicants in service whether part-time or full-time must apply through their employers for both part-time and full-time enrollments.
• Selection of candidates for admission to a postgraduate program is performed by respective department/ institute. The selection procedure may vary from one department/ institute to another. Candidates are advised to contact the respective department/ institute for information regarding the selection procedure.
• Teaching Assistantships/ Fellowships may be awarded to suitable full-time students.
• Degrees obtained from institutions other than BUET will be subjected to equivalence by appropriate authority of BUET before a candidate is finally selected for admission to a degree/ diploma program.
