Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), an apex development organization, was established by the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) in May 1990, for sustainable poverty reduction through employment generation. Its main intervention focuses on self-employment, income generation and poverty alleviation of the landless and asset less people. PKSF is grounded on a strong footing and has created its own identity and image as a viable and unique organization in the field of poverty alleviation in Bangladesh. The foundation channels appropriate credit through Partner Organizations (POs),Undertakes intensive supervision and also renders consultancy services for building specially designed financial institutions for the poor. It also undertakes intensive supervision as well as monitoring at the grass-root level and sponsors exploratory research work to find out the impact of its development programs on the member of its POs. 

PKSF has been implementing the European Union (EU) funded project titled "Pathways to Prosperity for Extremely Poor People-European Union (PPEPP-EU)' since October 2022. The overall objective of the project is to contribute to poverty reduction and resilient livelihoods in the target regions of Bangladesh.

The Managing Director is the Chief Executive Officer of PKSF who works under the policy direction of its Governing Body. He or she is responsible for the management of the affairs of PKSF and has to play a leading and innovative role for the management and expansion of the activities of PKSF.

The post-covid emerging situation as well as the new challenges posed by the imminent graduation of Bangladesh from LDC status to a Developing Country status will require special attention from PKSF and its top management in suitably recalibrating its programs and activities. This will also require greater coordination with different concerned government departments. The Managing Director will be expected to play a leading role in this regard. 

Qualifications: 

The candidate is expected to have excellent academic background with at least a master's degree. The candidate should also have at least 25 years' of professional experience in the field of finance /planning, rural development (preferably appropriate credit management) and poverty alleviation at the top management level. He or she must have demonstrated leadership qualities and excellent organizing, analytical, negotiating and problem-solving skills. The candidate is also expected to have experience of leading organizations in any of the above-mentioned fields. Candidates exceeding 62 years of age on the last date of application, need not apply.

Emoluments: 

Monthly basic salary TK.1,82,000/-; house rent 60% of the basic salary; medical allowance Tk.3,000/-; hospitality allowance Tk.7,500/-; housekeeping and services allowance Tk.11,500/-; education allowance Tk.1,600/-for each child (not exceeding two children); a full-time transport with driver and other fringe benefits as per existing policies of PKSF. Applicable income tax will be deducted from the Managing Director's emoluments at source. These conditions may be revised by the Governing Body of PKSF from time to time. 

The Appointment will be made on contract basis for an initial period not exceeding 3 years, subject to annual evaluation of performance by the Governing Body of PKSF
