Admission Notice: Undergraduate Programs-2022 

1. Applications are invited from Bangladeshi citizens who have passed HSC/GCE 'A' Level or Equivalent Examination (Science Group) from home and abroad for admission in MIST Undergraduate Programs (Engineering and Architecture). 

  • Online Application Submission Begins: 17 February 2022 
  • Online Application Submission Finishes: 05 March 2022 
  • Admission Test Date: 18 March 2022 
  • Admission Test Duration (Unit A): 1000 to 1200 hours 
  • Admission Test Duration (Unit A+B) :1000 to 1200 hours and 1500 to 1700 hours 
  • Admission Form Fee: To 800 (Unit A), To 1000 (Unit B and Unit A+B) 
  • Admission Centre: Dhaka 

Undergraduate Programs: 

Two Units: Engineering (Unit A) and Architecture (Unit B). Architecture applicants need to appear examinations of both units. Applicants may also appear both for Engineering and Architecture (Unit A+B). 

Qualifications to Apply:

a) SSC (or Equivalent). The applicants who passed the examination in 2019 & 2018 in Science Group obtaining a minimum GPA 4.00 (without fourth subject) in the scale of 5.00. 

b) HSC Examination (or Equivalent). The applicants who passed in 2021 (result published in 2022) & 2020 obtaining a minimum total Grade Point 17 in four subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English). 

c) GCE ('O' and 'A' Levels or Equivalent). 

The applicants who pass. In 2019 & 2018 with minimum 'B' grade in five subjects including Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English in GCE '0' Level. 

The applicants who passed in 2021 & 2020 with minimum two 'B' grades and one 'C' grade in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in GCE 'A' Level. 

d) Applicants interested in Biomedical Engineering, must have Biology at HSC or equivalent level with a minimum grade point of .A../ GCE 'A' or equivalent level with a minimum grade point of 'C'. 

Short Listing for Written Test.:

a) Short-listed candidates shall be allowed to appear written test. These candidates include: candidates passed in H.S.C/Equivalent Examination in 2021& 2020. 

b) Two separate lists of applicants (one for current year and the other for last year) will be generated for selection purpose to appear written admission test only. 

c) The names of short-listed candidates will be published on 14 March 2022 online in MIST website . 

Examination and Marks Distribution:

a) There will be NO Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ). Questions will be in both English & Bangla and applicants can answer either in English or Ban la. The marks distributions for both units are as follows: See the main circular (given bellow) 

b) No mark is allotted for S.S.C/H.S.C/Equivalent results. Meri list will be prepared on the basis of Written Test only. Minimum qualifying marks in the written test is 40% for both Unit A and Unit B. 

c) Five percent (5%) marks will be deducted from the written test for the candidates passed HSC in 2020. Thereafter, a Combined Merit List (candidates passed HSC in 2021 and 2020) will be prepared for the admission and department allocation.

Application Form Submissions:

Application to be submitted online through MIST website (www.mist.ac.bd) only. After successful submission of application, applicant will receive a USER ID online. With that USER ID, applicant needs to send SMS to 16222 from Tele-Talk pre-paid mobile phone with required balance. Application fee is Tk. 800 (Eight hundred) for UNIT A and Tk. 1000 (One thousand) for UNIT B and UNIT (A+B). Detail instructions for e-Application and Fee submission is given in MIST website. On successful completion of both, applicant will receive a password through SMS using which an eligible applicant can download Admit Card. 

Required Documents for Quota Applicants:

a. Heroic Freedom Fighters. Detail information downloaded from the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs website (http://mis.molwa.gov.bd/freedom-fighter-list) and relationship certificate with freedom fighter.

b. Military Ward (Children of Military Personnel). 

1. Serving. Certificate from Organization Head / authorized officials. 

2. Retired. 

Officers. Certificate from CORO / Naval Secretariat / Air Secretariat

JCO/ OR/ NC(E) of Army/ Navy/ Air Forces: Certificate / Service Record Book from respective Arms / Service's Record Offices / Drafting office. 

Children of Serving Permanent Employees of Ministry of Defence and MIST. Certificate from appropriate authority of respective organization. 

Ethnic Minority. Certificate issued by local Upazilla Chairman and counter signed by District Commissioner. 

For all quota applicants, above mentioned original documents (hardcopy) must be submitted to MIST Admission Office by 08 Mar 2022 for quota authentication / verification. 

For GCE applicants, attested copy of Transcript/Certificate (hardcopy) must be submitted to MIST Admission Office by 08 Mar 2022 for authentication /verification. 

Candidates will be considered disqualified for any incomplete or false information at any stage of admission process
