Jahangirnagar University is a public university in Bangladesh, based in Savar Upazila, Dhaka. It is one of the top and only fully residential University in Bangladesh. The university was established in 1970 by the Jahangirnagar Muslim University Ordinance of the government of Pakistan. Its first vice chancellor, Mafizuddin Ahmed (PhD in chemistry, Penn State) took up office on 24 September 1970. The first group of students, a total of 150, were enrolled in four departments: Economics, Geography, Mathematics, and Statistics.

A geographic information system (GIS) is a computer system for capturing, storing, checking, and displaying data related to positions on Earth’s surface.

JU is inviting application for Master in Science in GIS for Environment and Development.

Name of the Course: MS in GIS for Environment and Development

Admission qualification:

Applicants having at least CGPA 2.0 on a scale of 4 or

2nd class in 3 Year Honors with 1 year MS or

2nd class in 4 Year Honors

 Course duration: 1 year

Deadline of application submission: December 22, 2023

Cost:1,20,000 BDT Approximately (3 installments)

Admission test: December 29, 2023

Course Starting: January, 2024
