IBA was founded in 1966 in collaboration with Indiana University, Bloomington, USA, under a Ford Foundation Financial Assistance Program with the objective of providing professional training to create future business leaders. The founder-director of IBA is Professor M. Shafiullah IBA began by launching its flagship MBA program. In the 1970s, the MPhil and PhD programs were introduced. The BBA program was started in 1993 at the Institute. In 2007, the Executive MBA program was launched to cater to the growing demand for quality education among mid-career executives.

 

The Doctor of Business Administration (commonly abbreviated as D.B.A., DBA, DrBA, or Dr.B.A) is a research doctorate awarded on the basis of advanced study, examinations, project work and research in business administration. The D.B.A. is a terminal degree in business administration. Along with the Ph.D. or D.Phil., it represents the highest academic qualification in business administration, and is typically required to gain employment as a full-time, tenure-track university professor or postdoctoral researcher in the field.

Name of the Course: Doctor of Business Administration 

Qualification for Admission:

(i)MBA/EMBA /Masters in any business-related subjects (in Accounting, HR, Marketing, Finance or equivalent degree from recognized academic institutions with minimum CGPA 3.00 (on a 4 point scale) or equivalent.

(ii) Minimum 7 years of full-time work experience after Bachelor's degree or 2 years of teaching/research experience

(iii) Minimum 50% marks in all public examination. Minimum 2 division or CGPA 3.5 (5 point scale) in SSC & HSC

(iv) Minimum CGPA 3.00 (on a 4-point scale) at Bachelor's degree.

(v) Pass Course Bachelor's degree holders are not eligible to apply

(vi) Equivalence certificate from the Equivalence Committee of the University of Dhaka (for private and foreign university certificates  vii) Two letters of recommendation (one from an organization supervisor and the other from an academic supervisor.

(vii) A short "Statement of Purpose" setting forth the reasons for pursuing doctoral study personal objectives and career plans. (Maximum 2 A4 size pages, double spaced

(ix) A write-up on research intent (maximum 4 A4 pages, double-speed) addressing the area of interest,  motivation and rationale for choosing that area, and the intended business contribution

(x) All certificates, transcripts, and documents mentioned in the form.
